Bamboo Flooring

A bamboo floor is a type of flooring manufactured from the bamboo plant. The majority of today’s bamboo flooring products originate in China and other portions of Asia. Moso bamboo is the species most commonly used for flooring.  Many people adore bamboo flooring because of its affordable cost and the high durability factor to it!

Bamboo is an attractive alternative for flooring because of its physical similarities to hardwoods. Bamboo floor manufacturers and sellers promote its strength, durability as well as resistance to insects and moisture while having the added benefit of being eco friendly. The hardness of traditional bamboo flooring ranges from 1180 to around 1380.

If you are looking for a flooring that can stand up to a high traffic area and looks great, you may want to think about giving bamboo flooring a try.  This is also a great type of flooring for homes with children and pets!  I have three dogs and cannot imagine having carpet as opposed to my cherished bamboo flooring.

Bamboo flooring will never be considered a cheap flooring but it is not as expensive as traditional hardwoods and should it need repaired or refinished in the future it will prove to be much less expensive than other woods. Being able to make repairs is important when considering any flooring because accidents do happen and when they do it is important to be able to afford these repairs.

This does not mean that the floor is not beautiful and strong.
