Bamboo Flooring Review

Many people are curious about bamboo flooring reviews, and after I have done a lot of research I have to say it has received a lot of rave reviews!  My sister recently purchased bamboo flooring for her home and she loves it!  It is quite durable and can stand up to children running on it as well as dogs and other pets.

The number one feature to this type of flooring is how tough it truly is.  After all bamboo flooring is not wood; therefore, it does not have the sensitivity to water as wood floors do.  This is a great feature for those concerned about spills and other messes.

In my home my husband and I have all hard wood floors.  We have what is known as “old wood” as the home was built in the 1930′s.  We love our floors but this is hard to find these days.  The great thing about the bamboo flooring is it is readily available and as strong, if not stronger than our old wood floors!

Laminate bamboo floors are different solid bamboo and engineered bamboo and each one can be installed in different manners.

Solid bamboo flooring is installed using nails, staples, or glue. This type of bamboo flooring is best left to a professional installer in order to prevent having damaged floor planks from the wood splintering or buckling during the nailing process. Some installers use glue to install solid hardwood floors and it is possible for homeowners who do their own projects to install solid bamboo flooring using glue if they are certain to use the right adhesive. Using a water-based adhesive will cause problems with the floor and it will be ruined. Homeowners who wish to install their own bamboo flooring should choose engineered bamboo flooring and a floating installation. Floating installation are click-n-lock type installations that may or may not require flue being applied to the joints as they are fitted together.
