When it’s time to spruce up the house without doing a major remodeling, adding a bamboo floor mat is an ideal way to bring new life to floors. A bamboo floor mat brings many characteristics to a room that other floor mats can’t compete with. First and foremost is the sustainability factor.
Bamboo floor mats, like bamboo flooring, are made from bamboo, an extremely fast-growing grass that is harvested and processed for use as a hardwood in flooring and floor mats. A bamboo floor mat is very durable and will last for many years longer than traditional floor mats and have more style than typical floor mats.

Carbonization is a heating process that alters the fibers of the bamboo much like heating sugar. The higher the heat and the longer the process is used the darker the bamboo will be. Lastly, some companies take natural bamboo and add stain to it to create even more color options for their bamboo floor mats.
A bamboo floor mat, regardless, of size and color, is a sturdy option when looking for a floor mat no matter what room of the house it is going to be used. Bamboo is strong and durable, much more so than other fiber type floor mats that are traditionally used in homes. Because of their strength and durability bamboo floor mats last for years which is much longer than a plastic floor mat lasts and much prettier too.
To insure that the bamboo floor mat lasts as long as desired, consumers should look for quality bamboo manufacturers who use a process that includes inspection and grading. This insures that the consumer will get their money’s worth when they purchase a mat. If unsure about the quality of the rug, research the manufacturer or ask the salesperson before purchasing.
